Robertshaw® Control Magnets (or Wig-Wags) were designed to help control the tub during the Whirlpool® laundry cycle. The clothes washing machine timer actuates one of the solenoids for tub agitation. Later in the cycle, the timer actuates the other solenoid for to spin dry. There are several ways to order these control magnet assemblies. The CM-169 is just the Wig-Wag assembly without armatures and the rest of the kit. The CMK-170 is the armatures and the kit, which includes two each of the spacers, push nuts, and rivets. The CMA-168 includes all of the above, namely the Wig-Wag assembly, plus the armatures and the kit.
